Members and Donors of the Athens County Foundation Touch Many Lives in Athens County
The Athens County Foundation continues to serve the people of Athens County for over 35 years. Donors are “members” of the Athens County Foundation and find it a rewarding and easy way to giving back to the community.
From the initial contributions of $50 each by its eight founding members, the assets continually grow. This year, the Foundation awarded over 50 grants and other allocations to local non-profit and government agencies equal to $400,000 which bring total grantmaking to over $2.5M.
Donors give back in valuable ways to the Athens County by voting for important organizational issues at the Annual Meeting. New donors are always needed to help continue the work of the Foundation in Athens County. Donors can give a significant gift which will endure in perpetuity.
Donors may also give to the Athens County Foundation through wills, bequests, donor advised funds, designated funds, organization funds, special interest funds, and scholarships. Funds may be increased at any time and can be established in the name of a relative, family, friend or organization. All memberships are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Athens County Foundation is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization.
