Emergency Response Update – June 29, 2020

UPDATE #3

It has been 3 months since the Athens County Foundation began its Emergency Response Funding! Since April, we have awarded over $135,000 to 22 organizations responding to the needs of Athens County during the COVID-19 pandemic. The biggest portion of our funds went to support programs providing food security, and health and human services in our county which include food aid programs, PPE and sanitation purchases, and patient assistance, among others.

We would like to extend our warmest gratitude to our partners: the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville, Sisters Health Foundation, Rocky Community Improvement Fund, PPE for Athens Fund, Snider Fund, Athens Jaycees Senior Fund, Children Conservation League Fund, Beale Legacy Fund, Christine Knisely Fund, and the Solly and Sammy Fund for Peace. We are also grateful to all donors who helped us raise over $12,000 in emergency response funding!

Our work is far from over. As our state slowly reopens, the Athens County Foundation remains ready to deploy our resources to support organizations that are responding to the pandemic as well as those that are recovering from it.
