The Women’s Fund of the Athens County Foundation announce they are accepting nominations for the 2017 Woman of the Year. Nominations are due by March 3, 2017, when the Advisory Board of the Women’s Fund will consider all nominees. The 2017 Woman of the Year will be announced at the annual Spring Luncheon held on April 11th, 2017.
April 11th is of particular importance as it is National Equal Pay Day for women. Women in Athens County earn on average 56% of the wages of their male counterparts and one-third of our children live below the poverty line. In 2017, it is still crucial to locally advocate with these facts. This is your chance to honor a woman who is a champion for women and girls in Athens County.
