The Athens County Foundation, in conjunction with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and the HealthPath Foundation of Ohio, is pleased to host a Capacity Building Series presented by Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations. This series will enable nonprofits in Southeast Ohio to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations in order to realize and sustain their missions.

In the ever-changing workplace, having progressive HR programs is paramount for organizational effectiveness, improving employee morale and confidence, and minimizing risk for the employer. Topics will include Job Descriptions, Performance Reviews, Overall Salary Structure Evaluation & Compensation, Employee Handbooks, and Retention Strategies.
Fundraising- July 17, 2018
Fundraising is a necessary part of the life cycle of nonprofit organizations. It is what keeps the lights on, the food in the pantry, blankets in the shelters, and enables us to make payroll. Financial & Legal- November 13, 2018
Financial issues covered: budgets, financial reports, Form 990, investment policies, internal control policies, unrestricted current net assets/reserves, purchasing policies, and confidential means to report financial improprieties. Legal topics: Nonprofits must be aware of and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding Fundraising, Financial Accountability, Human resources, Licensing and registration, Taxation, and Lobbying and political advocacy.
